At sewts we automate what others can’t. Gripping of deformable materials like textiles is a task most humans see as intuitive and simple. However, this is a complicated task for robots as they lack the detailed and contextual understanding of where and with what level of sensitivity to handle these textiles. As deep-tech enthusiasts, we teach industrial robots human perception skills. With over €10M in funding we will bring automation to the €1,500bn fashion industry to achieve our long-term vision. You will be an integral part of our Product and Operations Team, which is responsible for collaboration with our external suppliers and customers to guarantee the smooth delivery of every sewts.VELUM system. They are defining timelines and measures for system adaptations and will provides troubleshooting support and on-site feedback where needed. In a nutshell, they act as the primary contact point with all our customers until successful site acceptance and therefore a happy customer is achieved.

As our Automation Engineer (m/f/d) you will be an integral part of said Operations Team. You will be focusing on end-to-end PLC code implementation, from designing, analyzing, and implementing to deploying and continuously improving the functionality of our products. You will be in the field, traveling to customers for commissioning, servicing and upgrading systems. Curious? Let’s talk!

How you will be creating an impact with us:

PLC code implementation: You will be programming and parameterizing PLC in our industrial machines and robots by using STX, and working closely with motion design and control for industrial drives and servos;
Testing and Solution Deployment: You will be working on release management and testing of prototypes including commissioning, debugging, troubleshooting on site and remotely;
Cross-functional Collaboration: You will be collaborating with our Software Team on further enhancement of our code integration between deployed PLCs and other edge devices and implement code versioning with Git and other state of the art versioning tools, and facilitate hand-eye calibration between visual sensors and industrial robots;
Development: You will work on HMI adaptations, initial setup and programming of articulated robots, adaptation of TCP/IP and socket connections and well-structured PLC code using TwinCAT;
Willingness to travel for 15-20% of the time, primarily within central Europe.

Your profile

2-3 years of experience in PLC development and programming of articulated robots;
Programming experience with IEC 61131-3 (LD, FBD, STX) and a strong understanding of EtherCAT/OPC/ADS/TCP/IP;
A strong affinity of working with and handling Electrical Circuit Diagrams, and a great level of comprehension of Code Versioning and Artifact Management;
Experience in programming and deployment of FANUC robots, simulation in ROBOGUIDE or other industrial robot simulation programs, experience with multi-robot trajectories is a plus;
An academic degree in Automation-, Electrical-, Mechatronics Engineering or an equivalent field of study;
Professional working proficiency in English and an advanced level of German is a must.

Du wirst ein integraler Bestandteil unseres Produkt- und Operations-Teams sein, das für die Zusammenarbeit mit unseren externen Partnern und Kunden verantwortlich ist und die reibungslose Lieferung jedes sewts.VELUM-Systems garantiert. Du definierst Zeitpläne und Maßnahmen für Systemanpassungen, bietest Unterstützung bei der Fehlerbehebung und gibst den Bedienern und Technikern vor Ort den notwendigen Input. Als unser Automatisierungsingenieur (m/w/d) bist du ein integraler Bestandteil im Operations Team. Dein Fokus liegt auf der umfassenden implementierung von SPS-Code, von der Planung und Analyse bis zur Inbetriebnahme und der kontinuierlichen Verbesserung unserer Produktfunktionen.Du arbeitest viel im Feld und reist zu Kunden um Systeme in Betrieb zu nehmen, zu warten und zu updaten. Was du bei uns verändern wirst:

SPS-Code Implementierung: Du programmierst und parametrierst SPS-Code für unsere Industriemaschinen und Roboter. Unter Verwendung von STX arbeitest du an Aufgaben des Motion Design und der Steuerung für Industrieantrieben und Servos;
Code testing und Deployment: Du arbeitest am Release-Management und Testing von Prototypen, einschließlich Inbetriebnahme, Debugging, Fehlerbehebung vor Ort und remote;
Teamübergreifende Zusammenarbeit: Du arbeitest mit unserem Software-Team an der weiteren Verbesserung unserer Code-Integration zwischen installierten SPSen und anderen Edge-Devices. Du setzt Code-Versionierung mit Git und anderen state of the art Versionierungstools um und führst Hand-Eye-Kalibrierung zwischen bildgebenden Sensoren und Industrierobotern durch;
Entwicklung: Du arbeitest an HMI-Anpassungen, dem Erstinbetriebnahme und der Programmierung von Mehrachsrobotern, der Anpassung von TCP/IP- und Socket-Schnittstellen sowie gut strukturiertem SPS-Code unter Verwendung von TwinCAT;
Wanderlust: Reisebereitschaft für 15-20% der Zeit, hauptsächlich in Zentraleuropa.

Dein Profil

2-3 Jahre Erfahrung in der SPS-Entwicklung und Programmierung von Mehrachsrobotern;
Programmiererfahrung mit IEC 61131-3 (LD, FBD, STX) und fundiertes Verständnis von EtherCAT/OPC/ADS/TCP/IP;
Starke Fähigkeiten in der Arbeit mit elektrischen Schaltplänen und ein hohes Verständnis für Code-Versionierung und Artefakt-Management;
Erfahrung in der Programmierung und Bereitstellung von FANUC-Robotern, Simulation in ROBOGUIDE oder anderen Industrierobotersimulationsprogrammen, Erfahrung mit Mehrroboter-Trajektorien ist von Vorteil;
Ein akademischer Abschluss in Automation, Elektro-, Mechatronik-Ingenieurwesen oder einem äquivalenten Studienfeld;
Professionelle Sprachkenntnisse in Englisch (C1), fortgeschrittene Deutschkenntnisse sind von Vorteil;
Gute analytische und kommunikative Fähigkeiten.
