At sewts we automate what others can’t. Gripping of deformable materials like textiles is a task most humans see as intuitive and simple. However, this is a complicated task for robots as they lack the detailed and contextual understanding of where and with what level of sensitivity to handle these textiles. As deep-tech enthusiasts, we teach industrial robots human perception skills. With over €10M in funding we will bring automation to the €1,500bn fashion industry to achieve our long-term vision. You will be a part of our dedicated Hardware Team, whose members are experts, specialized in the design of complex systems, handling textiles. You will be closely working with a cross-functional team of mechanical, mechatronics and service engineers, who develop, test and deliver our fully standardized sewts.VELUM as well as new and individualized robotic automation systems.

As our Robotics & Automation Engineer (m/f/d) you will act as the expert in the field of robotics engineering, automation, and PLC programming. You will own the development from requirement definition and conceptualization to commissioning and troubleshooting on site and remotely. You will act as the architect for our current robot and PLC code and co-develop our latest robotic and machine prototypes and simulations. How you will create an impact with us:

Robotics Engineering: You will program articulated robots, work on physical FANUC robots and their simulation in ROBOGUIDE and other robot simulation tools, creating multi-robot trajectories;
PLC code development: You will be programming and parametrizing the PLCs for our machines and robots by using STX, and working closely with motion design and control for industrial drives and servos;
Testing and Product Development: You will develop bug fixes and new automation features for sewts.VELUM while also working on development, implementation and testing of new product prototypes and use-cases;
Commissioning and Troubleshooting: You will lead and coordinate all automation related commissioning and PLC tasks by offering excellent support and collaboration with our external industrial integrators on topics encompassing versioning, debugging and troubleshooting Online as well as Offline;
Code Architecture: You will rebuild and enhance the entire PLC and robot code infrastructure and architecture for our first product sewts.VELUM while also ensuring proper code versioning of our fleet using Git;
Communication and Connection: You will create communication pathways to online or edge devices using EtherCAT/OPC/TCP/IP and socket connections.

Your profile

3+ years of professional experience in a similar role, ideally within a product focused automation or robotics company, startup experience is appreciated;
Strong experience of programming articulated robots, ideally FANUCs, robot simulation with ROBOGUIDE or other robot simulation software; multi-robot trajectory simulation is ideal;
An academic degree in Automation-, Electrical-, Mechatronics-, Robotics Engineering or an equivalent field of study;
Working proficiency in English, an advance level of, German is appreciated;
Great analytical and communication skills are required.

Du wirst Teil unseres engagierten Hardware-Teams sein, dessen Mitglieder Experten mit Spezialisierung für das Design komplexer Systeme zur Handhabung von Textilien sind. Als unser Robotik- und Automatisierungsingenieur (m/w/d) wirst du als Experte in den Gebieten Industrierobotik, Automatisierung und PLC-Programmierung agieren. In diesen Themen bist du verantwortlich von der Anforderungsdefinition über die Konzeptionierung bis hin zur Inbetriebnahme und Fehlerbehebung sowohl vor Ort als auch remote. Du bist der Architekt für unseren aktuellen Roboter- und SPS-Code und arbeitest an der Entwicklung unserer neuesten Roboterbasierten Prototypen und -simulationen mit. Was du bei uns verändern wirst:

Robotik-Engineering: Du wirst Mehrachsroboter programmieren, an physischen FANUC-Robotern arbeiten und ihre Simulation in ROBOGUIDE und anderen Robotersimulationswerkzeugen durchführen, um Mehrroboter-Trajektorien zu erstellen;
SPS-Code-Entwicklung: Du wirst die SPSen für unsere Maschinen und Roboter programmieren und parametrieren, indem du STX verwendest, und ebenfalls an der Bewegungsplanung und -steuerung für Industrieantriebe und Servos arbeitest;
Testing und Produktentwicklung: Du wirst bestehende Bugs beheben und neue Automatisierungsfeatures für sewts.VELUM entwickeln. Zudem arbeitest du an der Entwicklung, Implementierung und dem Testing von Produktprototypen und neuen Anwendungsfällen;
Inbetriebnahme und Fehlerbehebung: Du wirst alle automatisierungsbezogenen Inbetriebnahme- und SPS-Aufgaben leiten und koordinieren, indem du exzellent mit unseren externen Partnern in Themen wie Versionierung, Debugging und Fehlerbehebung vor Ort und remote zusammenarbeitest;
Code-Architektur: Du wirst die gesamte SPS- und Robotercode-Infrastruktur und -Architektur für unser erstes Produkt sewts.VELUM anpassen und verbessern. Zudem setzt du eine state of the art Code-Versionierung unserer Flotte mit Git auf uns verwaltest diese;
Schnittstellen und Protokolle: Du wirst Schnittstellen zu Online- oder Edge-Geräten unter Verwendung von Protokollen wie EtherCAT/OPC/TCP/IP und Socket-Verbindungen definieren und einrichten.

Dein Profil

3+ Jahre Berufserfahrung in einer ähnlichen Position, idealerweise in einem produktorientierten Automatisierungs- oder Robotikunternehmen; Erfahrung im Startup-Umfeld ist von Vorteil;
Starke Erfahrung in der Programmierung von Mehrachsrobotern, idealerweise FANUCs, Robotersimulation mit ROBOGUIDE oder anderen Robotersimulationsprogrammen. Idealerweise Erfahrung in der Simulation von Mehrroboter-Trajektorien;
Ein Hochschulabschluss in Automatisierungs- oder Elektrotechnik, Mechatronics- oder Robotics-Engineering oder einem äquivalenten Studienfach;
Sehr gute Kenntnisse in Englisch (C1); fortgeschrittene Deutschkenntnisse sind von Vorteil;
Hervorragende analytische und kommunikative Fähigkeiten sind erforderlich.
