Finance Rockstar Wanted (m/f/d) – Robotics | Series A | Munich

Now we need someone who can handle the numbers behind it. 

At sewts, we’re building the intelligence that allows robots to manipulate deformable materials—textiles, towels, and cables—with human-like precision. Our systems are already live across Europe, and we’re scaling into the US. 

We’ve solved a problem most thought was impossible. 

Now we’re turning that breakthrough into a category-defining company. 

And for that, we need a finance leader who builds as fast as we do. 

Your Role: 

• Own the financial backbone of sewts. Optimize it. Shape it. Scale it. 

• You’ll work directly with our leadership to turn technical breakthroughs into a bold, executable financial strategy—and make sure we have the structure to support rapid growth. 

• But this isn’t just about strategy.You ensure that everything stands on solid ground—from clean books to audit-ready structures. 

• Cash is king—and you’ll make sure we always know where we stand. 

What You'll Actually Do:

• Own the entire finance and accounting function.
• Ensure accurate, timely, and compliant accounting (HGB), together with external partners.
• Take full responsibility for monthly reporting and annual closings.
• Prepare financial statements and support audits and tax processes. 
• Optimize and scale accounting processes, systems (e.g. DATEV), and internal controls.
• Shape financial planning, forecasting, and controlling.
• Lead investor reporting and fundraising preparation.
• Own and maintain an investor-ready data room, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and due diligence readiness at all times.
• Drive cash management, liquidity planning, and runway control.
• Act as the financial sparring partner to the leadership team.

Who You Are:

• 5+ years of experience in finance/accounting roles in high-growth environments (startup, VC/PE-backed, or similar).
• Strong background in accounting, controlling, or audit (Big 4 or similar is a plus).
• Deep understanding of HGB accounting, financial statements (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow), and closing processes.
• Hands-on experience with accounting tools (e.g. DATEV, finway) and building scalable finance processes.
• Strong financial modeling and analytical skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset—you combine strategic thinking with a hands-on, detail-oriented approach.
• Strong communication skills and ability to translate numbers into business insights.
• Fluent in German (B2/C1+) and English (C1).
